The collection CLASSICS IN WHITE began with painting my daughter wearing a white dress while at a casino. It was a modern spin on a vintage look that was originally taken from a photograph. I figured why not paint more females wearing white with fun backgrounds, while keeping with the statement theme still. I gave each of them a name and color scheme depicting what the painting was based on. Each painting began from original photography as well. THE MET is based on a White Gala, the BRIDE as you know typically wear white, SOCIAL comes from a white party, NOISE was created from a guitar that inspired white noise, and last is CAPRI those popular little white cigarettes women smoked in the 90’s. Gordana is a friend of my daughters who sent me a picture of herself that I painted of her in oils. The Met building is made with dried rose petals designed to make the structure look 3D, then I painted the rose petals.
